This is the inaugural, long overdue TV show dedicated to the history of AJW, and vaulted footage from some of it's earliest matches. Some of these
performances you'd never expect to see on video. What's remarkable is that someone managed to hang onto the original broadcast masters, so the VQ and
sound are ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. This tape is the direct to video recordings of the first three AJW Classics broadcasts, imported straight from Japan. All
three shows, on one great tape, recorded at SP speed on a T-180 for the finest quality. Fire up the wide screen TV... a historic treasure chest.

Sato loses the title via count-out, when Monster tosses her out of the ring, and the cronies beating the count.

This show is a one match drama! Jaguar Yokota puts up her title against the most feared invader to Japan other than Monster Ripper, LaGalactica. The
women not only put ona sterling wrestling performance, but the constant beatings on Jaguar by Monster Ripper slowly take their toll, and you can see the
fans getting restless. Ultimately, Monster Ripper destroys Jaguar while the ref is distracted, and Jaguar loses both her title, and her dignity, as she has to
sit still while LaGalactica personally delivers the hack job on her beautiful, long black tresses. NOBODY can sell a drama like the AJW during this period,
as the fans are in absolute shock with what they saw transpire, and are genuinely pissed about it. This is a match that every wrestling fan should possess.

This third show takes us into the new era of young high-flyers, young monster heels, perennial babyfaced jobbers, and dirty heel referees. Itsuki Yamazaki,
one of the most beautiful women ever to don a pair of tights, is quite an accomplished wrestler even before the whole Jumping Bomb Angels thing. She
brings her All Japan Singles Title into a match with a brash young Junior Champion named Bull Nakano, who had only been wrestling for two years at this
point. Supported by Dump Matsumoto, Crane Yu, and a rogues gallery of heels, Nakano and company kick Itsuki's brains in until a tearful Noriyo Tateno
covers her with her own body, hoping to shield her from any more torment. Itsuki says "forget it!", relinquishes her singles title, and goes to the WWWA tag
titles with Tateno. Plus the two sweetest jobbers in AJW history go at it in a highly spirited, equally matched Juniors bout.

AJW Classics on Samurai TV: Volumes 5 and 6
Once again AJW goes to it's film vault, and picks out manna for the gods! Both 1hour shows, combined on one great tape. Volume 5 features the titanic battle between Devil Masami &
Chigusa Nagayo. This is the crowning glory of women's wrestling. If there ever was a perfect wrestling match, male or female, this one might be it. A full 45 minutes, non-stop affair that
leaves both women drenched and barely able to stand…each refusing to lose! The only match I know of that even comes close is the phenomenal Jaguar Yokota-Lioness Asuka
WWWA title match that took place on the same night, and also on this tape (Classics Volume 6). Every other woman on the card should have put their paychecks back in the kitty, and
given it to these four women. Plus, there are features on Haircut matches, and Lioness Asuka's retirement, with a mini Crush Gals history. VQ and camera work is outstanding.

More of the good stuff from the 1980's. AJW opens it's film vaults to give us a look at one of the most popular women of her time, and a true wrestling great, Yumi Ogura. Unfortunately, the first match
Yumi gets herself involved with Dump Matsumoto. She wins up fighting an army…Dump's Army. Yumi gets strangled, gouged, and beaten with a pipe. Yumi's match vs Devil Masami is a fair fight, but
she is again outgunned. Still, the tussle she gives Masami validates her status as a front-line performer. Second show features Jaguar Yokota, Mimi Hagiwara vs Tarantula ( retirement match), and a tag
battle between Jumbo Hori, Yukari Omori and the-up-and-coming Jumping Bomb Angels .Excellent footage, delicious in every way.

Sometimes you get lucky when you trade tapes and make friends over the Internet. I was lucky enough to obtain this actual studio master, circa 1985 TV broadcast.
It's impeccable in sound and video quality, and is a collector's dream. This tape is the epitome of a truly golden period in Japan women's wrestling.

Look at the collection of legendary tag teams on this 3-hour blockbuster, and the rest is left to the imagination. All these matches are full-length classics, including the 50-minute barn
burner featuring the Inoues vs Mima Shimoda & Manami Toyota. And who can forget the brutal & dramatic grudge matches between all the former Dump's Army stable mates,
including the DOUBLE HAIRCUTS MATCH included on this tape. Every now and then, you run across a treasure chest on a wrestling tape. This is one of those instances.

A full complement of matches from a time when Mima Shimoda was a green young rookie, as was Mika Suzuki (Susuka Minami, Miori Kamiya (Cooga), and budding stars like Yumiko
Hotta and Hisako Uno (Akira Hokuto).This tape sees some of the best matches by the outgoing women at the peak of their careers…Dump Matsumoto, Mika Komatsu, Bull & Condor,
and the Jumping Bomb Angels. The matches on this tape certainly deserve the title "Best Collection" because it is indeed one of the best collections of wrestling matches that I have
on tape.

Pretty Mika fights hard from the start, but the inevitable occurs…Dump mops the arena with her, then pins her.

Japanese Women's Wrestling: Glorious Matches 1970s Pt.1.
If you like Monster Ripper ripping up poor little Japanese girls, this tape's for you! Toss in the evil work of the infamous Black Pair, and it's all bad for the babyfaces. This two hour tape has a short
match list, but that's because the matches are long. These women know how to put in the work, and fight for a full half hour. The feature match is a wild match in which Jackie Sato defends her title
against her good friend and Beauty Pair teammate, Maki Ueda. Two beautiful women, with an evenly divided crowd going completely nuts for them. I've never seen a more into than in this match. They
mark for a full half-hour, non-stop. What a crowd! .I've never seen anything like it.

The highlight on this one is the incredible Dump's Army battle. These things are classics. They all love each other, yet they inflict unimaginable cruelties upon each other. Meanwhile
there is a tremendous WRESTLING match going on in the midst of the wholesale violence. It's an exciting combination of wrestling and violence, unique, and light years above the
garbage ECW, WCW, WWE, and other companies would call "Hardcore" wrestling. Best match I've seen in years.

One of the juiciest and historic collections of Japan's women wrestling. Features Aja Kong's destruction of Noriyo Tateno for the All Pacific title, as well as her brutal cage match destruction of Bull
Nakano. Then, there's the bloody rematch! Plus we get to see Mima Shimoda & Etsuko Mita win their very first tag team title, unseating the great Honey Wings. Plus there's a match between the Marine
Wolves and the Honey Wings! If you are a historian of Japanese women's wrestling, then you already know the weight of this 1990-91 collection. Video quality is very good, although there might be
some jitter here and there (not much, though).

the winner. Hokuto is eventually regarded as one of the best ever. The matches here are her showcase. Also, Evil American, Madusa Miceli joins Kong & Bison in the beatdown of some game but smaller
women (one of which, Miori Kamiya, will later evolve into the masked JWP star, Cooga). More magical matches. Very good VQ. Another treasure.

This tape gets off to a rocky start, as both Mima Shimoda and Devil Masami try their hand at singing, then some human interest stuff. But it's not long before they are
doing what they do best, and that's wrestling. This card is graced by the likes of Devil Masami, Susuka Minami, Lioness Asuka, Chigusa Nagayo, Jumbo Hori and a
general cast of top Japanese stars. Great match between Beautiful Mimi Hagiwara and American heel, Judy Martin. Mimi is lovely in white, sporting her
championship title and diamond studded crown. Martin is furious with envy and jealousy! Judy will be eating humble pie by the time it over, though. Velvet McIntyre
does another stint as an evil American. Despite the rocky start, this tape is strong throughout.

her by Tommy Aoyama. Also, a 3 woman tag team match featuring the World's Tag Champions, LeiLani Kai and Despina Montegas along with their evil partner,
Devil Masami. Watch as they use size to overpower and brutalize their opponents, The Crush Girls, and their young Japanese partner. Other Americans in action on
this tape include the beautiful Sabrina, young and svelte Peggy Lee, also Betty Clark, and Judy Martin. All the Japanese regulars, including Jumbo, Jaguar, Kumi,
Jackie Sato and Susuka Minami. Plus, there's a three girl tag team "boxing" match featuring the Japanese ladies. This gimmick match has the girls wearing boxing
gloves, but it breaks down into one of the wildest wrestling matches ever! Nice video quality to boot!

Japanese stars. Home field advantage means nothing, as it does not always go well for the Jd' girls. As always, great action, great camera shots, and lots of pretty
young japanese girls. The final match features a gang of girls from LLPW, accompanying their stable mates Asuka and Sawai to the ring. The twelve of them,
employing some of the dirtiest tactics and outside interference that I have ever seen in a Japanese women's match, assure victory for LLPW. Poor Bison and
Shiratori suffer a gang-bang beatdown. Video quality is slightly below average, but good.

Filmed in the late 1980's, this is a fantastic AJW show. Not only do the big time stars of that era come out, but the up-and-comers like tiny young Manami Toyota,
sleek and slender Kyoko Inoue, and the tough but undersized Mima Shimoda show that they were destined for future greatness. Also wrestling are Noreyo Tateno,
Madusa Miceli, Susuka Minami. Akira Hokuto must call upon her full repertoire to hold off the challenge of young Manami Toyota. There's a Judo/Ju-Jitsu shoot fight
that ends abruptly when one girl suffers a broken nose. The jewel of this tape is the "worked" kickboxing match between little Mima Shimoda & Yumiko Hotta. This
match started out as a work, but once Shimoda got punched in the nose, things got really angry between the two, and both girls took some really nasty shots! Slight
tracking error during the shoot fight, otherwise very good VQ.
